On behalf of the Scientific and Organising Committee of the Conference, we would like to cordially invite you to participate, in person or online, in the Hospitaller Brothers Herbal Medicine Conference 2022. This year, the Conference will concern the phytotherapy of the elderly. This invitation is especially addressed to the academic staff of the Chairs and Departments of Pharmaceutical Botany, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Technology, to the Chairs and Departments of Geriatrics, Psychiatry and Neurology, and also to the doctors, pharmacists of other affiliations, including family doctors who are interested in the application of herbal substances in their patients. We hope to reach the specialists dealing with the cultivation of medicinal plants and production of plant-based agents. The Conference will also be opened for other participants who are interested in phytotherapy.

The Hospitaller Brothers Herbal Medicine Conference 2022 is organised by the Polish Province of the Brothers Hospitallers of Saint John of God under the invocation of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary together with the Hospitaller Medical Centre Ltd., and the Phytotherapy Section of the Polish Medical Society. The Partners of the Conference are the Polish Association of the Clinical Pharmacy, Boni Fraters Pharmaceutical Ltd., Polish Herbology Committee and the Institute of Natural Fibres and Herbal Plants of the State Research Institute.

The objective of the Conference is to create a platform for the exchange of information and co-operation between doctors, pharmacists, producers of the medicinal products of herbal-origin and herbs, individuals and institutions promoting phytotherapy, research staff studying herbal substances, persons running herbal shops.

The Order of the Brothers Hospitallers of Saint John of God, which has been operating in Poland since 1609, in accordance with its charism, serves people in sickness and poverty, by running hospitals, clinics, shelters, nursing homes, pharmacies, diners and community assistance centres. Since the reactivation of the Polish Province in 1922, the Order of the Boni Fraters, has been developing medical assistance, remembering all the time about the use of herbalism. The result of this multigenerational tradition is the creation of Herbalism Clinics by medical doctors and also the natural products made by Hospitaller Brothers, which also include herbal products.

At the Conference, the invited experts will present lectures concerning the most interesting issues in the field the phytotherapy of elderly persons.

We also invite you to send the reports concerning your research, which after the qualification will be presented at the Poster Session of the Conference and will then be published in a form of abstracts and also in one of the following journals: „Herba Polonica”, „Postępy Fitoterapii” (The Advances on Physiotherapy)”or “Polish Journal of Cosmetology”.

The best research work of a young scholar presented at the Hospitaller Brothers Herbal Medicine Conference 2022 will be distinguished with the award of the Provincial of the Polish Province of the Brothers Hospitallers of Saint John of God.

The lectures, research reports and discussions with the participation of a wide group of experts will make an opportunity of creating for you a path for the exchange of experience and develop your knowledge. They will undoubtedly contribute to the development of the existing friendships and to create new contacts.
